Fingerprint cards are the traditional method of fingerprint collection.Fingerprint cards may be captured either by using ink or live scan fingerprint capture with cards printed.

In Horta’s & Associates Group offices stock standard FBI (FD-258) and FINRA fingerprint cards. Fingerprint card services can be provided on any state-specific card. If you require fingerprinting on a form of any kind, other than a fingerprint card, please contact our office for direction.
Horta’s & Associates Group offers live scan fingerprinting on FINRA fingerprint cards, which we keep stocked in our offices.
We also offer electronic fingerprint submissions directly to FINRA!
Horta’s & Associates Group is an approved fingerprint channeler to handle all of your Electronic Fingerprint Submissions (EFS) to FINRA.
Horta’s & Associates Group has worked closely with FINRA to become authorized to submit EFS under the guidelines established by the FBI and FINRA, and is only one of thirteen companies in the United States to do so.
As a certified vendor, we offer a secure connection where fingerprints can be submitted electronically with results being delivered back to the broker dealer through FINRA CRD. Electronic Fingerprint submissions allow for faster processing times, higher quality fingerprints, reduced rejection rates, and lower FINRA fingerprint processing fees assessed to firms.
Live scan fingerprinting is the process of capturing fingerprints electronically for submission to specific agencies, filing or printing of fingerprint cards. There is no ink involved in providing a live scan fingerprint service.
Horta’s & Associates Group team uses our custom built live scan machines to run your fingerprints through a glass screen. This screen captures the sequence of your fingerprints and displays them on a computer screen. Live fingerprint scanning is the preferred method for most of our customers. The advantage of live fingerprint scanning provides a much clearer picture of your fingerprints and reduces the possibility of fingerprints being rejected by any agency or department.
An Apostille is a French word meaning certification.
Individuals who travel abroad to live, work, or attend school may be asked at some point to have documents Apostilled or Authenticated.
Countries that are part of the “hauge convention” require travelers to have their FBI report apostilled before they can enter the country.
FDLE is Florida’s Department of Law Enforcement which is responsible for handling any and all Florida background checksfor civilians. PrintScan is approved to transmit fingerprints via Live Scan fingerprinting devices to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

WHO CAN USE THIS SERVICE ?
Private citizens, companies, and governmental entities are authorized.
Under Florida’s public records law, you can request a state only criminal history record check. Some employees are required by law or policy to have periodic state and/or national criminal history record checks through the regulatory or licensing agency.
FBI Fingerprints are used by the FBI to positively identify people and cross reference their unique fingerprints to their criminal history. Most agencies and states require specific employees or personnel to submit their fingerprints to the FBI for an FBI background check. FBI Fingerprints are nothing more than one step of a greater process which ultimately is obtaining your full FBI background check report.
REASONS FOR AN FBI FINGERPRINT CHECK:
FBI background checks include a summary of your criminal history. It’s a summary of an individual’s criminal history or activity, and is frequently referred to as a “wrap sheet.”
Information used in the report is obtained through federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies. It should be noted that while any company can require a background check as a condition of potential employment, only you can request a copy of your criminal history summary from the FBI.
FINRA or “Financial Authority Regulatory Industry” is a corporation that acts as a self governing body for financial investors working in the United States.
A FINRA background check is a check done by the corporation to ensure the accuracy of an applicants U4 form. An investment banker, when applying to a position must fill out a U4 form which contains personal information. FINRA requires this information to be accurate and does this by requiring the applicant to undergo a background check specific to FINRA.
